The most wonderful time of the year!

I love Christmas time for many reasons. This year my favorite reason was that I was going to be able to do my dream job for two whole weeks...being only a mom! This year our family has grown to 3 and we had the most amazing Christmas ever (despite teething and a virus)! Brantley got showered with gifts and Jason and I are very grateful for all of them! Now if only Brantley will learn how to sit so he can play with all of his toys. This was us last year at Christmas just getting used to the idea of a baby on the way :).

Now we have the most precious gift ever!

I am so blessed with a beautiful, healthy baby boy and a husband who is my very best friend. Who needs gifts when you have all of that? They are just an added bonus :).

Baby Milestones

As a parent there are many milestones that you eagerly wait for your baby to reach. You wait for the first smile, the coos and goos, rolling over, sitting up, laughing, crawling, etc. But as a mom I have learned that there are other milestones that babies reach that are not written in baby development literature. Here is my list:
  1. Your baby can successfully pull out a clump of your hair.
  2. While lying on his back, your baby can put his toes in his mouth and suck on them.
  3. While changing your baby's diaper, he can aim and pee all over you with ease.
  4. Your baby can spit up all over you every time you make yourself look really cute (which isn't often).
  5. When your baby begins to drool, he can soak through multiple layers of clothing.
  6. Your baby has learned how to put his lips together and spit and does this over and over again.
  7. When your baby can fit his whole fist into his mouth.
  8. Your baby becomes enthralled with his hands and stares at them until he becomes cross eyed, and then tries to devour both of them...at the same time.
Brantley has reached all of these milestones and I am such a proud momma :).

This Saturday Barnes & Noble is having a bookfair to support one of the schools I work at, Fowler Drive. 10% of purchases made benefit our students as they try to raise money to go to Rock Eagle and Jekyll Island. If you are in Athens, come out and see our Step Team and Drum Group perform! If your not in Athens, you can use the code at any Barnes & Noble and even online. All you have to do is enter it at checkout. Here is the code: 10352953

Giving Credit Where Credit is Due

I have to admit that I did not come up with the title of my blog on my own. I wanted a creative title that related to what the blog was about...The Franks. So I turned to my friend who I find very witty for help, Mary West. And she had come up with some great ideas and I totally stole this title from her! So thank you Mary!! Not only is she creative at coming up with blog titles, she has made some incredible earrings. She is selling them on Esty and all the proceeds go towards a mission trip she will be going on to the Middle East. I am definitely buying a pair...just having a hard time choosing cause they are all so cute! Here is the link: http://www.etsy.com/shop/maryhwest. You should check it out! These are the ones I am going to buy.

Have a great day! 17 more days until Christmas!

From blog follower to blogger...

Well I am officially a blogger! I have enjoyed following my friends' blogs, but after I had Brantley I decided that it would be a good way to update what is going on in the life of the Franks. So 4 months later, Frankly Speaking is up and running! Better late than never :). I will gave a warning...our life isn't too exciting but I promise that you will be entertained by adorable baby milestones. Enjoy!
