Happy 5 Months Austin!

Austin another month has passed and you continue to grow and learn new things everyday! Here are some things you are up to this month...

You weigh 16lbs and I have no idea how long you are. You are in 6 month clothes and size 2 diapers. You are getting so big! You go to sleep between 7:30 and 8 then sleep about 8 hours. Then you wake up to eat and go back to sleep. During the day you eat 5-6oz every 3 hours and take 3-4 naps.

Some things you are loving right now are playing with your big brother, anything that has to do with your Daddy (you just stare at him whenever you hear his voice), putting any and everything in your mouth, and playing with toys.

Some things you are not loving right now are getting lotion put on your face, getting your nose wiped, and sleeping on your back.

You can now roll over from stomach to back and back to stomach. You can get up on all fours and rock back and forth. You are so close to crawling!! You can get to where you want to go by throwing yourself forward. I can't wait for you to crawl! It will be so fun when you can chase after your big brother. It will be very soon. You are also working hard at sitting up and are very close to doing that as well.

Austin you are such a joy to be around. You are very easy going and love to be social. You barely cry...seriously. Only if you are super sleepy or hungry. You seem like you are going to be the type that goes with the flow. But whatever you are going to be like, know that you are loved!

2013 Review in Pictures

These are pictures from some of the great times the Franks Family had this past year. It was a year full of showers, weddings, birthdays, vacations, and births. Definitely a great year!

So long 2013 its been fun! Can't wait to see what 2014 will bring us!

Christmas Recap

So this is a little late. I thought I would have more time to blog being off from work for two weeks but... things don't always go as planned with two little ones. My parents came up Christmas Eve and spent the night with us. We woke up Christmas morning and opened presents then headed up to Jason's parents for Christmas lunch. This year was really fun because Brantley actually understood presents and that he would be able to open them on Christmas. He woke up at 3:30 asking if it was time to open presents yet. Thankfully he went back to sleep until 6:30, which that is the normal time he wakes up. No joke. He has always been an early riser. I blame it on my teaching job which causes us to leave the house at 6:30 every morning. But back to Christmas...here are some pictures that captured our fun times!

We really did have a good day. Jason had been working a ton leading up to Christmas so it was great to have a whole day with him. The boys got way more toys than they needed, but it was fun to see their family want to bless them with gifts. It took a few days after Christmas with all the new toys to get my house reorganized. Christmas always comes and goes way too fast. Brantley still can't quite understand that it is only a day and still asks if it is Christmas. This weekend we are going up to my sister's house to celebrate Christmas so we have some more fun ahead of us!

Austin is 4 months old!

So this is a couple of days late, but Austin you are now 4 months old! You have grown so much and have learned to do so many new things. Here is what you are up to at for months:

You weight 15 lbs. Probably a little more now because you have been a bottomless pit lately! You are consistently eating 6 oz every 3 hours and will eat 7 oz before bed. Our schedule has been off lately so you go to bed anywhere between 7:30 and 9:00. You sleep anywhere from 5-8 hour stretches at a time. You wake up once to eat then back to bed. However, you have learned some new motor skills that you like to try out in the middle of the night such as rolling over and rocking on all fours that tends to wake you up. But you have slept through the night a few times and this makes Mommy extremely happy.

You are good at rolling over from your stomach to your back. You have rolled over from your back to your stomach a couple of times. You seem to not like being on your back very much and try so hard to roll over. When you are on your tummy you can occasionally get on all fours a rock a couple of times. But then you just start kicking your legs. You also love standing up and would much rather do this that sit or lay down! That is why you love your jumper. You are able to be up and see everything that is going on. You are also trying very hard to grab and hold on to things. If we put a toy in front of you it is super slow motion until you actually grab it and hold on to it for a second. But you concentrate so hard and what to do it so bad. You will be doing that very well pretty soon!

Right now you love to watch your big brother play. Just watching him keeps you entertained for a while! He loves to play with you too and can always make you laugh. You love to chew on your fingers! They are always in your mouth due to some bottom teeth that are starting to make an appearance. This make you one slobbery baby! You also love when people talk to you and are very quick to give your precious smile.

You are not liking getting lotion on your face. You have very dry skin and we put lotion on you frequently and you are just not a fan. The car seat is still not your favorite but you are starting to enjoy it a little bit more.

You are just growing so much and changing everyday. We love you very much sweet boy!

Weekend Recap

First of all, I LOVE the Christmas season. I love Christmas decorations, Christmas songs, baking Christmas goodies, and doing Christmas crafts. I feel like it was just Thanksgiving and the Christmas season is already flying by. I know everybody says that, but this has probably been the quickest it has gone for me. Life has been so hectic lately with something to do every weekend that I feel like I can't just sit down and enjoy this season. However, there will be many more holiday seasons to share with my family, and hopefully ones that will be a lot more relaxed that I am not too worried about it. This weekend we had a Christmas party to go to for the boys. Their babysitter throws a party for the kiddos every year. They draw names for who they will buy a gift for and exchange gifts. The babysitter also buys a gift for each of the kids. Brantley and Austin are very blessed to have her! Brantley had a great time playing with his friends and opening presents. This is the first year that he really understands what presents are and was super excited. Austin of course had no idea what was going on and was perfectly content to be held and chew on his fingers (his new favorite thing as he is already teething).

On Sunday my hubby surprised me with tickets to go see the Hunger Games. This was our first date since Austin was born. It was WAY over due, but with Jason working weekends it is hard to find time to get away. This was also the first movie we have been to in years, seriously. We would rather cuddle up on the couch and watch a movie than go to the theater, but for Hunger Games I could not wait until it came out on DVD to see it. I love these movies. They are so good! I don't know how I am going to wait until 2014 to see the third one! I guess I will just have to read the books.

This is the last week of work before the break and I am SO ready. It is a 4 day week filled with holiday themed activities/parties and a field trip to a UGA basketball game. Not too bad of a way to end the year before the break. MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Thanksgiving Recap

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving! I had the whole week off which was a much needed break filled with quality time with family. It was so relaxing that I literally stayed in my yoga pants and big t-shirt all week except for Thanksgiving. (I would seriously wear that everyday if I could.) We started off by celebrating Thanksgiving with Jason's family on Sunday. Then Monday we packed up and headed down to my parents' house for the week. On Wednesday family began to come into town which was great because a lot of them finally got to meet Austin. Thursday we cooked and ate way too much of course, but it was all delicious! Here are some pictures from the week....

Loved spending time with this little man!

We really enjoyed our week! Now it is time to go back to the real world and wear real clothes again.

Austin 3 months

I cannot believe it has been 3 months. Austin, you are a joy to this family and it is an honor to be your mommy! This is what you are up to at 3 months:

You are growing! You weight about 14 lbs (not extremely accurate because we measured you at home). You take about 3-4 naps during the day and eat 4-6 oz every 3-4 hours. Sometimes you eat a lot less if you are super sleepy because you would rather be sleeping than get your belly full. You go to bed between 8:30 & 9:30 and sleep for about 6-7 hours, wake up to eat, then go back to sleep.

You have discovered some new things lately! You love your fingers and will suck/chew on them all the time. You have started trying to grab toys if we hold them close enough for you. You concentrate so hard and your brow gets all furrowed when you are trying to touch a toy. You have also figured out how to roll from your tummy to your back! You have done this twice so you are still perfecting this skill. When you are on your tummy you can scoot and do a 180 degree turn. You are definitely a mover but I could have told you that from how you were in the womb!

Some things you love right now are your big brother who always makes you smile, cuddling, lying on your play mat, and "talking" to Mommy and Daddy (you have the best little coos ever!). Some things you don't really love right now are your car set (it is hit and miss if you are going to scream or not), being cold, and getting lotion put on your face.

Austin you are a super happy baby and not very much makes you upset! I am looking forward to next week when I will have a whole week off from work and we will get to cuddle all day!
